Father Kenneth BreenSpiritual Moderator & Board Member
Fr. Ken Breen, O. de M., has been a Spiritual Moderator since 2018 for the St. Raymond Nonnatus Foundation. He was born in New Jersey in 1958. The family soon moved back to their native Cleveland, OH, when Father was two years old. He grew up there on the west side of Cleveland and loved science and math, but in short, story, when praying and asking our Lord where to lead him on whether to pursue Chemical engineering or somewhere else, he invited Father Ken to throw the net on the other side of the boat.
A little poster in the back of his grade school St. Richard's church led him to the Marian Order, the Order of the BVM of Mercy. He joined in 1978, and it has been quite a journey ever since. First in the characteristic jail and prison ministry of the Order in St. Petersburg, FL for six years, then to our parishes in Cleveland, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Rocco's from 1991-1997, then India from 1997 to 2010 helping with formation there, back to St. Petersburg, FL 2010-12, then to our Mercygrove in LeRoy NY from 2012-15, back to St. Pete FL for having some Spanish immersion with our Order in Antigua, Guatemala, and presently with a Mercedarian parish called Our Lady of Mercy-St. Brigid in LeRoy, NY, and this Foundation ministry. Father Ken prays that there has been fruitfulness in his journey. His prayer is that we all continue the journey of living in and proclaiming the Mercy of our Loving Savior and Redeemer and His Most Beloved Mother, Our Lady of Mercy. |
